Visit Exeter Cathedral
A visit to the Cathedral may not sound immediately tempting to bored children, but once they are there they’ll love it! With plenty of outdoor space to explore on the beautiful Cathedral Green, they’ll be able to burn off loads of energy and let off steam. And there are plenty of ice-cream stalls and shops where you’ll be able to treat them to something sweet. Once inside the cathedral you’ll find a wealth of information on its rich history.
The RAMM Centre
Exeter is lucky enough to have its very own museum. The Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery is great for children with its interactive displays and plenty of activities on offer. And even better – entrance is totally free for everyone! There are regular exhibitions, talks and lectures, along with special events that are dedicated to families and young children. The Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth
If your kids are mad about animals, then they will love a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary. Situated in Sidmouth which is a short drive from Exeter, this charity rescues and cares for donkeys, and by visiting them you’ll be supporting their efforts considerably and making a huge difference. There are loads of petting opportunities, along with a café and restaurant to make catering a piece of cake!
No matter what age group you’re looking to entertain, Exeter offers plenty of solutions to keep the kids occupied (and you from going crazy!).
